Today we are talking about the OnePlus 9RT Specifications & Review. We are always excited about using a OnePlus smartphone and the latest OnePlus 9RT by the company was no exception. It looks absolutely amazing and is available in India at a starting price of Rs.42,999. Read the rest of our review to find out whether the OnePlus 9RT is worth the buy.
OnePlus 9RT Specification: Design and Display
We were really impressed with the design of the OnePlus 9RT. The smartphone has a metallic curved frame which makes it comfortable to hold and also enhances one-handed usage. The ‘silk glass’ rear panel of the device comes with a matte frosted finish which gives the surface a sand-like texture. Overall, it gives a very premium look to the handset, which is available in Hacker Black and Nano Silver color options.
Talking further about the back panel of the OnePlus 9RT houses the camera module that comes with three lenses, and the company branding is placed at the center. The right edge of the smartphone houses the alert slider and the power button, while the left edge houses the volume rocker. The USB Type-C port, speaker grill, microphone, and SIM tray are on the bottom edge while the top is home to only the secondary microphone.
Flip over and you will see a 6.62-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display that is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The screen houses a fingerprint scanner at the bottom and it houses a selfie camera at the top left. The bezels outlining the device’s screen are slim and the relatively thick chin also cannot be called thick.
The colors shown on the display of the smartphone are vibrant and they remain consistent across different viewing angles. The projected images are sharp and clear and the brightness level is just right. The sunlight readability of the device is also good. We watched several videos on the OnePlus 9RT and we have to say that the experience was enjoyable. To sum up, both the design and the display were positive aspects of the smartphone and we were really impressed with both.
OnePlus 9RT Cameras and Performance
Before we talk about the performance of the OnePlus 9RT, let’s take a minute to discuss its specifications. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and packs 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The handset has 5G support and comes with three Wi-Fi antennas apart from the usual connectivity options.
The smartphone comes with a vapor chamber cooling system for heat dissipation but lacks an IP rating and wireless charging. It runs on Android 11 skin with OxygenOS 11.3 on top and houses a 4,500mAh battery. Along with the said software, a number of customizations can be found in the phone just like other devices from the company.
OnePlus 9RT provides a great experience when it comes to performance. You can switch between multiple apps and tabs in Chrome like it’s smooth and the fingerprint scanner works brilliantly every time. It doesn’t matter what heavy apps you use on the phone, it works very smoothly and launches quickly. We often watched Netflix while using navigation (we weren’t driving), and not once did the device heat up.
Playing games was also no problem. Even graphics-heavy games like Asphalt 9: Legends can be played on the handset without any issues. The sound output of the OnePlus 9RT was also good and the battery life was too. The 4,500mAh battery lasted a day and a half with video watching, social media app usage, and phone calls.
Talking about the cameras of the device, it was definitely another aspect that impressed us. OnePlus 9RT comes with a 50MP sensor, 16MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro lens. There is also a 16MP selfie snapper on the front panel.
The camera app comes with AI scene enhancement and a single button for dual-view video recording. It also comes with a Hi-Res mode for 108MP photos. As expected, the primary sensor worked well especially outdoors during the day. The colors were bright, but some may find them too saturated in some pictures. Results were a bit inconsistent with Portrait mode.
With an ultra-wide camera, a lot more area fits in the picture, but the image quality drops. The macro lens also did a decent job, but only when the lighting conditions were favorable.
If there was any camera that performed well in low-light conditions, it was the main camera of the smartphone. It worked well even without Night Mode enabled, and we consider that a big plus. The performance of the selfie camera was good in good light.
Conclusion
At the starting price of Rs 42,999, the OnePlus 9RT is definitely a great buy in India. With a beautiful design, vibrant display, super-smooth performance, enduring battery life, and a great main camera, it can easily be called an all-rounder. The other two cameras could have been better and an IP rating and wireless charging could have been accommodated considering the price point. But if these aren’t a big deal for you, you won’t be disappointed.
